#WINDOWS 8.1 MEDIA CREATION TOOL NOT DOWNLOADING WINDOWS 8.1#
Hello martin i am using windows 8.1 i downloaded windows 10. Wait till the svchost.exe to dissappear in connection tab in Proxifier and check folder again. From there you can confirm that your download is still under process. If I cannot download Windows using this tool, how else, without purchasing the installation medium, can I get the installation down from Microsoft? The ISO from my company's MSDN account does not work with my license key, legally purchased. It will show you svchost.exe is using your network which is responsible for downloading file for media creation tool. I've closed down the application, re-launched with elevated permissions, NOTHING. I even have a network trace tool (Wireshark) running to see what happens, and the application never initiated a request and no data is coming down. This is not an internet problem as I'm able to download ISO's from my company's MSDN account on the same machine, using the same internet connection. However, the Windows has been stuck on "Downloading Window 8.1" with a progress indicator and 0% complete Estimating time for the last 24 hours, yes, I thought I'd be patient.

The button downloads a 6.1mb file named OSGS14-WindowsSetupBox-32bitand64bit-English-4141408.exe which is a wizard that guided me through the process of downloading the necessary files so I can create a bootable medium to install Windows on my Notebook. Here are the steps: Step 1: Press the Windows + R keys together to open the Run dialog. I purchased a copy of Windows 8.1 (not Pro) from the Microsoft Store and received an email, with a link that takes me to a page with a download button. You can try to run the Windows Media Creation Tool as admin to fix the here was a problem running this tool issue.
